The alternative pop rock outfit The Wrecks took the stage at The Danforth Music Hall on
Saturday May 10th for a night of care free melodies mixed with melancholic moments that had the entire crowd reacting excitably throughout the evening. The members of the band (who are based in Los Angeles but are mainly from the opposite coast) controlled the stage effortlessly while displaying their eccentric attitudes and thriving in their “controlled chaos” like atmosphere.
The stage was decorated with house plants, hanging laundry and a couch which
was heavily utilized when front man Nick Anderson called upon the audience for an impromptu therapy session.
They played their hits including “Sonder”, “Freaking Out” & “This Life I Have”; the latter
spawning a slew of mini-moshpits between groups of friends and loved ones within the crowd.
They also made sure to show off their newer tunes from the first half of their new album titled
“Inside :”. Songs like “Always, Everytime” & “Speed” seemed to be standouts as the crowd
danced, hollered and sung along to the refrains that they’ve already grown to love. Their
INSIDE : OUTSIDE tour stop in Toronto concluded with their breakout track “Favorite Liar”, andwhile this was their first time performing in Canada’s largest city, the band made it clear that itwould not be their last. Judging by the ride or die fans that attending the show, it’d be hard to argue with their decision.
