Porter Robinson at HISTORY

On September 19th 2024, DJ and electronic music producer Porter Robinson stunned a sold out show of concertgoers at History in Toronto.

For his Toronto show and the rest of the North American tour, he is accompanied by hyperpop rapper and singer Ericdoa. He hyped up the crowd with fan favourites like "dancinwithsomebawdy", along with singing melodies while laying down on a bed. He also performed a cover of "A Thousand Miles" by Vanessa Carlton.

Robinson came up onto the stage with "Knock Yourself Out XD", blowing up the stage with a flood of pink light and electronic riffs. A few tracks in, Robinson commented that Ericdoa said that: "the crowd out there is so fucking big" and he was immediately raring to go for tonight's show.

Behind Robinson was a screen that displayed fun animations, social media posts tagged with his name and lyrics to each of his songs. It was like watching a doing karaoke with a 2000+ audience! His set was divided into his different album "eras" - documenting his diverse discography of and changes in style over the years. He also performed a cover of "Kids" by MGMT and then threatened to come back to Toronto and kill whoever recorded it.

Overall, his whole set was explosive and energetic. Whether it was letting guitarist Rafa Rodriguez kick over a large bin to kick off a guitar solo, joking about how to audience smells good because they don't play League of legends or dropping heart shaped confetti from the rafters, Robinson knows how to entertain and keep his fans engaged. He ended the night off with an encore of his career defining tracks "Cheerleader" and "Shelter".
