The team behind Southern California's well-respected music festival, Desert Daze, has recently announced the launch of their record label, DESERT DAZE SOUND, in partnership with Partisan Records. The label aims to provide a platform for a diverse range of artists from around the world who represent various sonic ideas.

According to Phil Pirrone, the founder of Desert Daze and the label, "Desert Daze Sound will be dedicated to facilitating the growth of artists that make the universe a better place." The label's first release is the first album in almost 40 years from the legendary Zamrock band, WITCH, a Desert Daze veteran. The album, Zango, features international and intergenerational collaborations that trace musical histories from Zambia and beyond. The label has released WITCH's new single and video, "Avalanche of Love," featuring Sampa the Great, which is now available on various streaming platforms.

Zena White, the Managing Director of Partisan Records, has expressed excitement about partnering with Desert Daze Sound, stating that "The imprint's inaugural studio album by Zamrock legends WITCH is going to have people dancing the world over." In addition to studio albums, the label plans to launch a series of vinyl compilations featuring live recordings from the Desert Daze festival.

Desert Daze is known for its carefully curated lineups, and the festival has been praised by various media outlets for its atmosphere and community. Desert Daze XI is set to take place on October 12-15, 2023, at Moreno Beach in Lake Perris, CA. The festival will also host the Desert Daze Stage at the Wide Awake Festival in London on May 27th, 2023.

The launch of Desert Daze Sound is a significant milestone for the Desert Daze team, as it provides a new avenue for showcasing diverse and innovative music. With the first release from WITCH, the label's future looks bright, and we can expect to hear exciting new music from artists on this label in the coming years.
