BJÖRK unveils "Fossora" video

Björk Shares New Video for “fossora” Directed by Herself, Viðar Logi, M/M (Paris) and Futuredeluxe.

Icelandic singer-songwriter Björk has released a new video for her track “fossora,” directed by herself, Viðar Logi, M/M (Paris), and Futuredeluxe. The title track is taken from her Grammy-nominated album of the same name, which was named as one of The New York Times’ and Pitchfork’s Albums of the Year.

The word "fossora" was created by Björk and named after the feminine version of the Latin word for “digger.” The track is a reflection on roots, grounding, love, and family in the context of an underground mushroom world. The video is an extension of the world Björk created for the album and sees her performing alongside clarinet sextet Murmuri and Kasimyn of Gabbar Modus Operandi against an unfolding backdrop of glistening spores that multiply, grow, and pulsate as the track’s intensity reaches its peak.

Björk is a multidisciplinary artist who continually innovates across music, art, fashion, and technology. She has written, arranged, and produced an expansive music catalogue and collaborated with scientists, app developers, writers, inventors, musicians, and instrument makers. Björk continues to inspire and experiment, redefining the boundaries of what it means to be a musician.

The “fossora” video credits include Björk, Viðar Logi, M/M (Paris), and Futuredeluxe as directors. M/M (Paris) was responsible for the original digital fungi typography, and Futuredeluxe handled CG design, animation, and production. The post-production was done by Okaystudio, with Sara Nassim as the shoot producer, Shadi Chaaban as DOP, and Frédéric Thoraval as the editor. The musicians featured in the video are Aditya Surya Raruna "Kas," Baldvin Ingvar Tryggvason, Grímur Helgason, Hilma Kristín Sveinsdóttir, Helga Björg Arnardóttir, Kristín Þóra Pétursdóttir, Rúnar Óskarsson, and Matthías Birgir Nardeau. Björk's dress is by Richard Malone, with neckpiece by James Merry, jewelry by Panconesi, and boots by Burberry. Kas's outfit is by Ican Harem, and the band's outfits are by Harri, Richard Malone, Rafaela Pestritu, and Maison Margiela. Edda Guðmundsdóttir is the stylist, with hairpieces by Tomikono Wig and makeup by Hungry for Björk and Sunna Björk Erlingsdóttir for the band and Kas.

Björk's "fossora" is available to stream now on www.bjork.com. The video is a stunning visual representation of the artist's creativity and innovation, once again highlighting her position as one of the most innovative and boundary-pushing artists of our time.
